Explored versus visible tiles
A fully visible tile can show its current information. An explored tile that is not presently visible remains shaded so you can distinguish remembered terrain from current intelligence. Unexplored tiles remain hidden.
Current ships, ownership and other changing details depend on your faction's actual visibility. Previously explored terrain is not a guarantee that the same fleets or structures are still present there. Use your fleet and faction vision to reveal current information.
